Description
The week long festival generally attracts a large number of folk artists few hundreds to precise and troupes come in from different countries. The festival has been on for more than fifteen years now and the festival has been going places in recent years.
The last few festivals have seen a tremendous response with more than fourteen hundred premformers coming in from different parts of the world. People from more than thirty one countries have taken part in the festival and they have attracted a combine spectatorship of more than a million. The festival is sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Shaanxi Provincial Government.
The Xi’an Ancient Culture Festival s a large-scale culture and art exhibition with folk entertainments held by the day and a lantern show by the city’s ancient walls during the night. Drumming, dancing, and various forms of local opera are all part of the program; the nearby Terracotta Army site provides yet another diversion: the famous archaeological dig is home to thousands of life-size soldier figures, each with its own individual expression.
